The 2013 GEMS Showcase Event, "Millennium: The Future of Research is Here Now," was held on September 20, 2013 from 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. in the Millennnium Science Complex. The 2013 GEMS Showcase Event included interactive tours of the Millennium Science Complex.
Presentations featured research by the following two Penn State professors:
- Susan Trolier-McKinstry, professor of ceramic science and engineering, "who gave the talk Piezoelectric thin films for sensors, actuators, and energy harvesting systems"
- Joshua Robinson, assistant professor of materials science and engineering, who gave the talk "Losing a Dimension: Extraordinary Phenomenon in Two-Dimensional Materials”
